Abstract
439,686. Recuperators. FITCH, W. H., 986, Woodland Avenue, Plainfield, New Jersey, U.S.A. June 12, 1934, No. 17306. Convention date, June 12, 1933. Drawings to Specification. [Class 51 (i)] In a furnace recuperator comprising horizontal air-heating tubes supported at each end in vertical walls, the latter are constructed of refractory blocks each formed with grooves for engagement with the tubes and with undercut recesses at the edges which bound the outer face of the block, these recesses being caulked with plastic cement, when the blocks are assembled, to reduce leakage through the wall. The construction described is identical with that shown in Figs. 5, 6 and 7 of Specification 439,685. Specifications 130,471 and 282,443, [both in Class 51 (i)], also are referred to.
