[Class 64 (iii)] [See also Group XXVII] In a heat engine in which air or gas is expanded, cooled by counterflow heat exchange and subsequently by discarding heat from the cycle, compressed, and heated by counterflow heat exchange with the expanded air or gas, the heatexchanger comprises a casting 21 provided with high-pressure header chambers 22 and low-pressure header chambers 23. The chambers 22 are connected through inner tubes 24 secured in conical bushings 26 held in place by nuts 27 and the chambers 23 are connected through outer tubes 28 secured in conical bushings 30 forced in place by gland nuts 31.
