Abstract
445,136. Multi-stage injectors. WEIR, Ltd., G. & J., and SIM, J., Holm Foundry, Cathcart, Glasgow. Feb. 5, 1935, No. 3694. [Class 71] A multi-stage steam-jet ejector installation comprises an aligned series of ejector nozzles 1, 2, 3 alternating with diffusers, the nozzles 1, 2 being adjacent the throats 2<a>, 3<a> respectively to receive inducing-fluid therefrom which enters the nozzles with a velocity substantially equal to that in the throats. The nozzle 1 draws air and vapour from the main condenser and discharges it into the first intercondenser 6; nozzle 2 draws from condenser 6 and discharges to intercondenser 7 ; and nozzle 3, fed with H.P. steam, draws from condenser 7 and discharges to intercondenser 8. The throats 2<a>, 3<a> open into radially divergent diffusion chambers 2b, 3b. Specification 179,976, [Class 71], is referred to.
