442,760. Machines for forming webs from asbestos &c. ARENTSEN, A. H., 13, Hoflaan, Dieren, Holland. Jan. 10, 1935, No. 879. Addition to 329,853, [Class 140]. [Class 96] [See also Group V] In making continuous sheets of asbestos cement with an insertion of iron wire netting as described in the parent Specification, by applying a paste of cement and asbestos to both sides of the netting by one or more pairs of rollers between which the netting is passed, excess water being then removed and the cement rolled out by one or more further pairs of rollers, the sheet coated with the paste is passed in an upward direction to and through the rollers which remove excess water and roll out the sheet, which rollers are formed of wire netting. The asbestos cement paste is contained in a casing 1 provided with agitators 2 and with two or more pairs of horizontal wire netting rollers 3 between which the sheet 4 of wire netting passes. The rollers 3 apply the paste to the sheet 4 which next passes between guide rollers 6 and then upwardly through guide rollers 7 and rollers 8 formed of wire gauze which remove excess water and roll out the sheet. The distance between each pair of rollers 3 may be adjustable. Two or multi-ply sheets may be formed by feeding coated sheets from two or more pasting devices simultaneously to the rollers 8.
