Abstract

284,469. Naud, V. F. Feb. 3, 1927. Tubes of rectangular cross-section are formed from strip by pasing it successively through three pairs of rollers which bring it to the three configurations shown in Figs. 1, 2 and 3 then bring- ing it to the form of a closed tube by the action of pairs of rollers 8, 9, Fig. 4, which gradually bring the strip to the desired form, a mandrel 7 and a table 6 being employed to support the strip. The tube is finally shaped by passing through a die 10, Fig. 6.
