[Class 83 (iv)] In an ordinary or. three high reversible rolling- mill with one or two sets or stands of rolls, additional edge upsetting rolls 1, 2 can be raised up in front of the other rolls and lowered out of the way when not required. The rolls 1, 2 are mounted on vertical shafts 3, 4 in a housing 6 which can be raised or lowered by rack-and-pinions 9, 10. The spaces 19 in the floor through which the rolls 1, 2 may be raised are normally covered by hinged flaps 20 coupled to lift with the roll lifting mechanism.
