Abstract

442,455. Box fastenings. PRESTWARE, Ltd., Morden Road, Merton, London, and SALTER, E. C., 33, Ester Avenue, West Barnes, New Malden, Surrey. Sept. 3, 1934, No. 25363. [Class 44] [See also Group XVII] A money-box comprises a cover 1 and a base 2 adapted to be locked together by means of a spring strip 9 held under bridge pieces 10 on the base and with its ends taking into recesses in ribs 7 on the cover. To unlock the cover, the ends of the strip are withdrawn from their recesses by inserting a key 11 through an aperture in the base to flex the strip as shown. The base has cut-out portions to take the ribs 7. The box is moulded from a synthetic resin &c. According to the Provisional Specification, the cover and base may be screw threaded, and the cover may carry a blade spring which slips over a projection on the base during screwing-up and engages the projection when an attempt is made to unscrew the cover.
