[Class 47 (i)] [See also Groups XIX and XXXIV] A headed bolt partly made, near the head, of fusible alloy is passed through a hole in a plug of insulating material screwed into the bearing so that the head lies flush with the inner surface of the bearing. On overheating occurring, the alloy fuses and a spring retracts the shank and makes a switch in an indicating circuit. In a modification, the bolt comprises a micrometer screw, the anvil of which is in part formed of fusible alloy.
