Abstract

429,874. Bolts. SEXTON, F. P., 74, 39th Avenue, Lachine, Quebec, Canada. Oct. 6, 1934, No. 28685. [Class 89 (i)] [See also Group XXXVI] An insulator 10 having a screwthreaded bore 2 is secured to a support by a pin 5 having a soft metal head 3 which is adapted to be screwed into the bore 2. The upper end of the head is formed with screwthreads 7 corresponding to those of the bore 2, and below the screwthreads 7 is a portion 6, preferably having ribs 9, which is initially unthreaded but in which screw threads are cut by the threaded bore of the insulator as the latter is screwed upon the head 3. The head may have a screwthreaded lower portion 8 which also engages the insulator bore. One or more soft metal horns 5a formed on the head 3 above the screwthreads 7 are adapted to engage the upper wall of the bore 2 so as to place this wall in contact with the pin and thereby prevent radio interference. In a modified construction the pin-head is formed without the lower threaded portion 8 and the unthreaded portion 6 of the pin-head is of polygonal, cylindrical, or frusto-conical form.
