July 28, 1934, No. 22063. [Class 135] In a pressure-reducing valve of the kind comprising an expansion chamber 1 containing a sliding sleeve or stirrup 8 carrying the valve member 10 and being inter. posed between a dia. phragm 2 loaded by an adjustable spring 9 and an oppositely acting valveclosing spring 11, the expansion chamber is formed with a radiallyprojected guide flange or flanges 7, and a socketed guide flange 6 which flanges form separate bearing points for the stirrup 8 at each of its ends. The stirrup 8 straddles an inlet conduit 4 and may be rigidly connected to the diaphragm 2 or merely in pressure contact therewith.
