FUR METALLURGISCHE UND CHEMISCHE PRODUKTE, 9, Skodagasse, Vienna.-(Assignees of Baschant, K. ; 2, Hindenburgplatz, Lubeck, Germany) Feb. 18, 1935, No. 5180. Convention date, Feb. 19, 1934. [Class 51 (i)] The auxiliary blast pipe 3, Figs. 1 and 3, arranged in the smoke box 1 of a steam boiler between the main blast pipe 2 and chimney 4 is provided with discharge nozzles 6 each having a short hollow conical frustum of which the longitudinal section through its axis has curved sides which merge into an expanding portion comprising a much longer superposed hollow inverted conical frustum. The nozzles 6 may be secured to the pipe 3 by screwing or soldering or by ball and socket joints. The jets issuing from the nozzles converge and diverge as indicated in Fig. 1. The nozzles 6 may be surmounted by nozzles 7 as shown in Fig. 4.
