440,153. Grilling-apparatus. MYERS, W. H., 5, Selwyn Street, Wollstonecraft, near Sydney, Australia. April 2, 1935, No. 10254. Convention date, May 11, 1934. [Class 28 (i)] [See also Group XI] In an electric griller, a grid 11, 12 is arranged above a frame 14, 15 which may be rocked about trunnions 17. Bars 18 carried by this frame support an electric heater 19 of heavy cross-section suitable for a voltage below 50. The heating wire may be supported by means of clips passing through plugs of insulating material carried by the bars 18. A reflector 23 supported by trunnions 24 is arranged below the heater, and may be adjusted by a handle 25. A plate 37 limits the inflow of air below the heater. Meat to be cooked is placed on the bars 11 and is grilled by direct and reflected heat from the heater 19, while it is superficially charred by burning grease falling on the heater. A trough 27 is provided to receive surplus grease.
