414,246. Electric hot-plates. REVO ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., REEVES, F. H., and CRAWFORD, A., Britannia Works, Groveland Road, Tividale, Tipton, Staffordshire. Oct. 10, 1933, No. 27835. [Class 39 (iii).] A hot plate provided with a heavy gauge electric resistance element d supplied from a step down transformer, is formed as an open frame so that it may radiate heat upwardly for cooking and downwardly for grilling. The element d may be carried on a metal grid by clips c<1> and insulated by spacers c<2>. It is divided and the two middle ends are connected to a heavy terminal e, the other two ends being connected to the frame which carries a heavy terminal a<1>. The element may also be mounted in a fire clay or insulated metal base provided with apertures to allow the heat to radiate upwards and downwards. It may also be embedded in cement in a protective sheath. A removable reflector may be positioned above or below the hot plate. Specification 391,576 is referred to.
