Abstract

Lubricating oils, waxes, motor fuels, and coating-compositions consist of hydrocarbon base, particularly one of petroleum origin, and an addition of a highly viscous to plastic polymerization product obtained from a cracked oil fraction according to the process described in Specification 432,310. By such addition the viscosity and viscosity index of a lubricating oil is increased, so that the product is suitable as an engine oil. Generally 0,5--5 per cent of the addition is sufficient.
