Motor Car & Railway Carriage & Wagon Builders ; 200, Kartouzska, Smichov, Czecho Slovakia) March 1, 1934, No. 6605. [Class 4] For the purpose of reducing the air resistance of a motor-car, aircraft or other vehicle which, owing to necessity of providing features such as protuberances for mudguards, headlights or curtailed rear parts, cannot be given a true streamline form, the formation of eddy currents at the points where the smooth contour is interrupted is prevented by discharging into the zones of partial vacuum formed at such points air introduced at a zone of pressure, e.g. the front end, and conducted through passages in the body, the flow being assisted, if desired, by fans or engine exhaust. In the arrangements shown diagrammatically air is admitted at the forward end or zone of pressure F of a motor vehicle, e.g. through the radiator passages, and conducted by passages H to zones of partial vacuum formed either at the rear G, Fig. 1, of the mudguards or at the rear part J, Fig. 2, of the body, which is shortened as compared with the true streamline form K.
