Abstract
437,503. Cut-outs. BRITISH THOMSON - HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. May 3,1935, No. 13243. Convention date, May 5, 1934. [Class 38 (i)] In an expulsion fuse, the strain wire 16 is electrically connected by a bolt 25 to one end only of the fusible link, the mechanical connection to the other end being by means of a bolt 22 and an insulating plate 29. When the fusible link melts, an arc strikes to the strain wire and ruptures it in a much shorter time on small overloads than that taken for the fusing of a strain wire arranged in the usual way. The disc 33 which closes the lower end of the fuse is driven out when the fuse blows and so serves as an indicator.
