Abstract
436,770. Electric incandescent lamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London.-(Assignees of Patent-Treuhand-Ges. f³r Elektrische Gliihlampen ; 11, Ehrenbergstrasse, Berlin) Jan. 28, 1935, No. 2793. Convention date, Feb. 24, 1934. [Class 39 (ii)] To enable an electric incandescent lamp 3 to be positioned accurately relatively to a reflector 6, an annular washer 4 of a diameter greater than that of the lamp bulb is soldered or welded to the lamp cap 1, the washer being shaped to engage directly with a corres pondingly shaped part of the reflector. In the example the face of the washer is slightly in clined to a plane per pendicular to the axis o the reflector, to form a continuation of the parabolic reflector, and is provided with a highly reflecting surface. The outer rim of the washer is bent back to form a cylindrical or slightly conical sleeve 5 which fits within a similarly shaped sleeve 7 at the apex of the reflector when the lamp is inserted from behind. To ensure that the lamp is held in a predetermined position a lug 8 is provided on the washer 4 to engage a corresponding slit 9 in the reflector. Alternatively, slots may be provided on the edge of the washer to engage pins on the reflector. In a modification the washer has a plane surface instead of parabolic.
