[Class 40 (iii)] In a cathode-ray receiver in which the ray is deflected by coils, the mutual capacitive coupling between the coils is neutralized. The line deflecting coil Z is fed from a transformer T whose secondary is earthed over a tapping on the secondary, or on a potentiometer P. By varying the tapping point, the capacitive couplings Ck1 Ck2, between one or other end of coil Z and the live end of the frame deflecting coil B may be made to neutralize.
