Abstract

435,302. Valve modulating circuits. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE, 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin. March 5, 1935, No. 6950. Convention date, March 5, 1934. [Class 40 (v)] Oscillations generated by a Barkhausen- Kurz oscillator R1 are modulated in amplitude by currents applied through a transformer T, and frequency modulation is balanced out by connecting a part e.g. of the secondary winding in the grid circuit of a modulating-valve R2, and the other part, eb in the opposite sense in the plate circuit of the oscillating-valve R1. The plate circuit of the modulating-valve R2 is in parallel with the grid circuit of the valve R1, the battery connection for each including a choke coil Z. The voltages across eg and eb may be equal, and the amplification of the valve R2 may be varied so as to secure the desired balance.
