[Class 59] In sugar - cane mills the bagasse conveyed from the maceration bath 4 by the conveyer 1 is' squeezed by a pair of rollers 5, 6 before being fed to the set of crushing rolls 3. The liquid may be returned to the bath 4 by gutter 7 or may be discharged by pipe 8 controlled by valve 9. Liquid may also pass through a perforated plate 10 to the gutter 7.
