Abstract
433,594. Dust-shoot closures. WALTERS, W. E., 296, High Holborn, London. Dec. 17, 1934, No. 36115. [Class 26] A dust-shoot closure comprises a hopper A slidable substantially horizontally in the opening, a pivoted base 9 to the hopper which is adapted to hang down to discharge the hopper contents and to be raised for closing the bottom of the hopper, and means in the opening to cause the base to swing up and down as the hopper is respectively pulled out or pushed in. The opening is lined with metal 3 and may have a cowl 13 ; slideways 5 are provided on the wall and coact with runners upon the side walls 7 of the hopper. A tray 9 is pivoted at 10 to the walls 7 ; when the hopper is withdrawn from the position shown in Fig. 2, the tray coacts with a bar 6 and is brought to a position, Fig. 3, where it makes a joint with the back wall 12. The side walls of the hopper may be shaped to provide stops for limiting the travel of the hopper, the front thereof may have a suitable gasket and the back wall may be forwardly extended.
