Abstract
462,900. Sanitary bins. MARROW, M. S. Sept. 10, 1936, No. 25144/35. [Class 26] A dust-bin comprises a container having a mouth in the top closable by a sliding cover and a detachable cinder-sifter 8, Fig. 2, which is less in length than the distance between the side-walls of the bin and is constituted by a wire-mesh trough having flanged or hook-like members 9 for detachable slidable engagement with the corresponding edges of the mouth of the bin. The upper end of the bin may be arched as shown in Fig. 1, the rear portion 2 of the arch being fixed and the front portion being movable over the portion 2 to uncover the binmouth. The portion 3 has extensions 4 moving in guides 5 and its travel is limited by a stop 7. The lower end of the bin may have a fixed or hinged bottom 10 ; in the former case a hook is provided to retain the part 3 in open position to facilitate emptying and in the latter case the bottom is retained in closed position by a footoperated hook 13.
