Abstract
431,214. Sanitary bins. SURRIDGE, F. W., Surridge's Wharf, Wharf Road, Wandsworth, London. March 6, 1934, No. 7117. [Class 26] [See also Groups XVII and XXV] A lid for a bin &c. includes a readily-securable clamp adapted frictionally to grip the wall of the bin &c. at one place only, and a hinged flap normally closing the mouth of the receptacle. In Fig. 1, a flap 2 is hinged to a segmental portion 3 which carries a cranked member 4 fitted with a resilient member 8 and a thumb screw 5, an abutment 6 and a stop 12 being provided. In Fig. 4, the clamp and the abutment are in the form of an instantaneouslyreleasable cam 14 carried by the member 4, and a resilient strip 16 respectively, whilst positioning-stops 21 are provided. In Fig. 6, the clamp is constituted by cam surfaces 17, 18 one of which is rotatable by a handle 19 which in the clamped position lies vertically downward. The member 4 carries lugs 22 engaging under yokes 23 carried by the lid so that the latter may be slid or pivoted or both.
