Abstract
430,933. Roofing-tiles. HURDEN, E., The Gables, Harefield, Middlesex. Feb. 28, 1934, No. 6469. [Class 87 (i)] In a pantile, the edge of the pan opposite to the roll is formed with a reverted curve of smaller radius than the roll, forming a smaller roll adapted to fit closely under the roll of the adjacent tile. At the point where the curve is reversed on the under tile, it is so shaped that a gap J is formed between the upper and under tiles to prevent the creeping of moisture, and so that a projection M, formed on the roll of the upper tile and fitting closely to the small roll H of the under tile, will lock the tiles together. The tiles may be made of material such as asbestos cement, and may be provided at one end with a flattened depression K to allow the heads of the fixing nails to be recessed.
