[Class 145 (ii)] [See also Group X] A flooring or covering for walls and other plane surfaces is in the form of boards or blocks, the edges of which are inclined angularly or curved, each pair of adjacent edges, or the tangential planes of each pair, forming angles with the upper surface of the flooring or covering which are together slightly less than two right angles, to facilitate relative sliding movement of the boards or blocks, during expansion or contraction. In the flooring shown in Fig. 1, the edges of the boards or blocks 1 are inclined with respect to the top and bottom surfaces and adjacent edges form joints 6 which are closed at the top and slightly open at the bottom. In the construction shown in Fig. 2, the edges are formed as V-shaped projections or recesses. In a modification, the projections and recesses are of curved form. In a further construction shown in Fig. 4, the edges are, S-shaped.
