[Class 142 (ii)] Relates to weft-replenishment in looms having change-boxes at each side. When weft failure is indicated by feeler mechanism on the left hand side of the loom, the picker 49 mounted on a swinging picking spindle, is moved backwardly so that the incoming shuttle passes through a compartment of the change-box 51 and enters an auxiliary shuttle-box 42 on the lay. After weft replenishment, the shuttle is picked from the auxiliary shuttle box and passes into the change-box. The picker is then moved into operative position. As described, the weft feeler is adapted to close a switch 1 to drive an electric motor 2 geared to cams for stopping the loom, displacing the picking spindle, effecting the bobbin or shuttle change, operating the auxiliary picking stick 41, and re-starting the loom.
