Driving and stopping arrangements; stopmotions, shuttle, weft, and acting after every pick.-A wide loom is driven by an electric motor A through an electromagnetic clutch D, the clutch being in a controlling circuit N supplied from a dynamo D<1> or an external spply which includes switch M, M<1> on a shaft m driven from the crank shaft 4 in parallel with switches n, n<1> on the shuttle boxes. One or other of the switches M, M<1> is positively opened during or at the end of each pick and the loom is stopped unless the shuttle enters its box and closes the corresponding switch n or n<1>. The circuit N may also include an electromagnetic brake G and a switch controlled by the weft fork.
