[Class 52 (ii)] A folding bedstead comprises two side frame members of tubular or U-shaped cross section, each member consisting of one or more parts 11 .. 14, and two or more stirrup or U-shaped transverse frames 20, 21, 22. The ends of the upstanding limbs of the transverse frames engage in holes in the side members, and the limbs 23, 24 are pivoted to the lower member 25. The parts of the side members are connected by sleeves 15 ... 18. The bed consists of a fabric sheet 19 with pockets at the edges through which the frame members are passed. The member 25, Fig. 6, of the cross frame is of U -section, as are also the legs 23, 24. A tubular brace 26 is pivoted to the leg 24, its lower end sliding in the member 25, and a two part brace 27, 28 is pivoted to the leg 23. The lower ends of the braces rest against a stop 29 when the bed is erected ; when folded, the braces lie inside the members 23-25. At the lower ends of the braces pins 31 engage in channels in the walls of the U -section member 25. The folded cross members are inserted in members 11 .. 14 when the whole is packed. The head portion of the bed comprises three tubes 32 .. 34, Fig. 1, connected as shown in Fig. 9, the end portions of the tube 33 being enlarged, and inserted in openings in the ends of the tubes 32, 34, the ends being afterwards partially closed around the tube 33, a slot being arranged so that the tubes may be disposed as shown.
