[Class 68 (ii)] [See also Group X] The flanges of an I - crosssection iron pile form constricted channels on each side of the pile. The flanges may be curved or bent. They may be wedge-shaped in section, Fig. 4, or they may be produced by welding trapezoidal or triangular rods to the inner faces of the flanges, Fig. 5. The lower end faces of the flanges may have cutting edges.
