Abstract

428,180. Tents. ERIKSSON, B. G., 20, Karlbergsvõgen, Stockholm. Aug. 24, 1934, No. 24455. [Class 20 (i)] Relates to tents of the kind in which the duck is stretched by a central rod extending vertically upwards from a skeleton of poles. According to the invention, the poles are made in two parts 1, 2 connected together by pivoted joints 3, so that when the central rod 15 is pushed upwards, the skeleton is expanded and the duck 19 stretched. The joints 3 may be locked in position by a locking pin. The upper parts 2 of the rods are connected by horizontal joints 8 and vertical joints 12 to a top flange 9 having a socket 10 in which the central rod 15 slides and to which it is locked in adjusted position by a transverse pin. The tent is secured by ropes 28 extending from the top of the central rod 15 to pegs driven in the ground, a tightening device 29 being provided. An apron 18 is secured to the sides of the duck for example by buttons 20, and the bottom flange 21 of this apron rests on the ground and is covered by a tarpaulin 31. A cloth 23 forming a ceiling is stretched over the upper pole parts 2 and is attached to the duck for example by buttons 24. Insulating spaces 22, 25 are thus formed round the tent, which is kept warm and moisture free.
