Abstract
426,868. Coating with metals. SCHREIBER, F., 57, Siebengebirgsallee, Klettenberg, Cologne, Germany. Sept. 2, 1933, No. 24265. [Class 82 (ii)] A galvanizing- pot has metal walls c and a lining b around the upper part of the walls, the lining being made of material such as stone, ceramics, &c. A space e is provided between the lining and the walls which is filled with material having sufficient heat conductivity to ensure that the two sides of the lining are at substantially the same temperature. The material may comprise part of the content of the pot, e.g. it may consist of molten lead where the galvanizing bath is formed of molten zinc floating on molten lead, or it may consist of powdered or granulated ferro-silicon, carborundum &c. For small pots sand, kieselguhr, &c. may be used. The lining b is held in position by a metal support a and a strengthening frame d may be provided to prevent warping. Alternatively a carrier a<1> of I-section, Fig. 3, with or without angle pieces d' may be used to hold the lining.
