426,797. Fluorescent screens. SIEMENS-REINIGER-WERKE AKT.-GES., 31, Karlstrasse, Berlin. Oct. 10, 1933, No. 27919. Convention date, Sept. 5. [Class 98 (i)] A fluorescent screen has the luminescent layer provided with a colour filter by which the spectral composition of the fluorescent light is modified, the filter not being substantially opaque to light which causes phosphorescence of the luminescent material or which chemically changes or discolours it. A colour filter may be used alone, or the modification of the light may be effected in part by a filter and in part by colouring the luminescent layer. Interchangeable filters may be employed. Screens embodying a lead glass plate may have the filter firmly fastened to them or to the plate ; or the lead glass may be tinted. Specification 426,789 is referred to.
