Abstract
439,870. Fluorescent screens. I. G. FARBENINDUSTRIE AKT.-GES., Frankfort-on-Main, Germany. March 12, 1934, No. 7844. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Sept. 17, 1934]. [Class 98 (i)] An intensifying or fluorescent screen for X-ray work comprises a layer containing a dye capable of absorbing phosphorescent light. The dye may be in a filter layer or may be added to the binding agent carrying the fluorescent material. In examples, intensifying screens comprise (1) a stiff paper &c. support carrying a fluorescent layer comprising zinc sulphide activated with silver and coated with a layer of Crystal Violet in gelatin, (2) a layer of zinc sulphide activated with copper and coated with a green filter layer dyed with Tartrazine and Patent Blue.
