Abstract

426,762. Unit air heaters. WARD, R. C. C., 45, Elgin Crescent, Kensington, London. Aug. 31, 1934, No. 25135. [Class 137] An electric fan and heater comprises an inner casing 30 enclosing a fan 38 on each side of which is a heating element 22, and an outer casing 13 which is spaced from the inner casing by distance pieces 17 and is insulated therefrom by an air space through which air is forced by an auxiliary fan 40. The outer surface is thus kept cool, the fan portion and the motor in a casing 11 supported on a pedestal 12 being readily transportable. Air is drawn by the fan through short tubes 15 connecting the inner and outer casings and is discharged through similar tubes 33, in staggered relationship. The auxiliary fan 40 draws air through openings 41 and circulates it between the casings to the outlets 42.
