[Class 99 (i)] [See also Group XXXVI] A conduit fitting, such as a tee or elbow, is formed from a sheet metal pressing and comprises socket ends formed as integral gripclips a<3>, adapted to be contracted around the inserted ends of conduit tubes by screws, each of the clipears a<1>, a<2>, or the ears a<1> only, being rendered inherently rigid under screwpressure by one or more ribs, flutings or channels b. The flutings b are extended at b<1> beyond the clip-ears into the adjacent parts of the clips and the fluted parts of the ears a<1> are bushed and tapped at c.
