425,711. Filter-presses. SERVICE (ENGINEERS), Ltd., and JOHNSON, J. A., Leek New Road, Cobridge, Burslem, Stokeon-Trent. Nov. 28, 1933, No. 33278. [Class 46] A filter-press tray consists of a plate having diagonally or obliquely arranged grooves a on each side, the grooves on one side being oppositely inclined to those on the other, and a drainage groove b being formed along all the edges of the tray and communicating with discharge apertures or channels c at all four corners of the tray. Air-vent holes may communicate with the upper part of the drainage groove b. The plate may be of cast iron and may be provided with supporting lugs d and with a central hole e surrounded by a plain portion f. The edges g of the plate are thicker than the grooved part.
