450,252. Type-bar-making machines. LINOTYPE & MACHINERY, Ltd., 9, Kingsway, and CASTLE, T. R., 26, Maiden Lane, Bedford Street, both in London. Jan. 11, 1935, No. 976. [Class 100 (iii)] Distributing matrices.-To enable the full number of the seventooth distributing- combinations to be employed for auxiliary as well as for main magazines, distinguishing means in the form of notches, grooves, or recesses are provided in the upper edges of the matrices for co-operation with supporting means on the distributer-bar. The set of matrices belonging to the auxiliary magazines may have outwardly and downwardly inclined grooves 6, Fig. 1, for engagement by plates 2 of similar form on the section of the distributerbar that belongs to the main magazines, so that these matrices are carried over to the section of the bar belonging to the auxiliary magazines, which is unprovided with the plates 2. The matrices belonging to the main magazines have open notches 7, Fig. 2, so that they are not supported by the plates 2.
