Abstract

1392030 Filter press plates FLETCHER FILTRATION Ltd 24 May 1972 [24 Feb 1971] 4816/71 Heading B1D A filter press plate comprises a main section 2, made of rubber or other polymer moulded on to a rigid iron or steel core, to which is removably secured a section 16 having a through hole 18 which together with the holes 18 in other sections defines a filtrate discharge duct, each hole 18 communicating with the drainage surfaces of main section 2 through channels 14, 20. Main section 2 may have one, two or four sections 16 at its corners. Sections 16 may be wholly of rubber or polymer or have a rigid core like the main section. O rings 26, 28 provide seals between adjacent sections 16 and between sections 2, 16. Fig. 3 (not shown) illustrates replacement of rings 26 by aperfured pieces of filter cloth (30), similar to the cloths covering main sections 2 but having only a sealing function. Optional projection 36 in Fig. 4 protects section 16 against damage in use.
