Abstract

425,087. Vacuum cleaners. FORSALJNINGS AKTIEBOLAGET VOLTA, 2, Norrmalmstorg, Stockholm.-(Assignees of Elektriska Aktiebolaget Volta; Stockholm) Aug. 7, 1934, Nos. 22858 and 22859. Convention dates, Aug. 5, 1933 and Oct. 16, 1933. [Class 8 (i)] A vacuum cleaner has at least two suction mouths 11 and 12, either of which can be put in communication with the suction conduit or hollow handle 18 by a coaxial hollow rotary valve 17 which has openings 20, 21 adapted to coincide with the suction openings 11 and 12 respectively. The suction conduit 18 may be fixed to the valve 17 so that rotation of the said conduit also rotates the valve or alternatively the conduit 18 may be fixed to the casing 10 and the valve operated independently by an external knurled sleeve. The face of the suction mouth 12 may be at an angle to that of the suction mouth 11 and the suction conduit or handle 18 slightly cranked so that on rotation of the handle through 180‹ the suction mouth 12 lies along the surface to be cleaned.
