Abstract
424,060. Cooling and heating beer. MURRAY, T. S. S., and MURRAY, F. L. S., 42, Lower Road, Rotherhithe, London. Aug. 9, 1933, No. 22278. Addition to 398,042. [Class 29] The apparatus of the parent Specification is modified by arranging a siphon or drawoff tube for the beer in the cask 1 to pass through the same single bung hole as the heat interchanger. Preferably the siphon tube 35, fitted at its lower end with the usual filter 40, passes through an open ended tube 33 extending through the interchanger 2, and it is adjustably clamped and sealed at the upper end of the coned fitting 14 by means of a rubber washer 36 and a plate 37 held by a bolt 38. An inspection tap 41 and a cock 12 are placed on the outlet pipe 9 for the cooling- liquid, so that the liquid may be run off at the tap 41 to indicate approximately the rate of circulation in the cooling system. The connecting pipes 7, 9, 4, 5 are preferably of rubber covered with a composition of rubber and cork, to facilitate connection and alteration. A heating liquid may be circulated through the interchanger.
