Abstract

423,222. Knitting-machines. WIRTH, E., Hartmannsdorf, near Chemnitz, Germany. June 30, 1934, No. 19367. [Class 74 (ii)] A thread delivery device for high speed warp machines comprises an axially displaceable shaft 5 kinematically connected to a warp beam by means of a worm gear 6-2 and carrying a conical element 25 which by axial displacement of the shaft can be brought into operative connection with a constantly driven roller 22. The movement of the shaft 5 is controlled by a pivoted lever 8 which at one end is provided with a roller for engagement with the yarn passing from the beam and at the other end has two rearwardly extending levers 10 in which are pivotally mounted the pins of a sleeve 11 located on the shaft 5. The roller 22 is driven by a bell-shaped sleeve 23 which is constantly rotated through gears 24, 15, 16 from the camshaft, the roller coupling devices comprising the elements 22, 25 being arranged in a closed oil container 13 at the base of the machine. A second warp beam is similarly operated by a shaft 5<1>, and overrunning of both shafts is prevented by braking elements 26.
