Abstract

422,614. Cathode-ray tubes. FERNSEH AKT.-GES., Goerzallee, Zehlendorf, Berlin. May 11, 1934, No. 14295. Convention date, May 11, 1933. [Class 39 (i)] Parts of the electrode assembly, including a focusing member, are adapted to slip over a plurality of insulating tubular, or rod-like, parallel supporting members. Three or four glass tubes 2 are sealed to the skirt in a jig, and a focusing member, consisting of a Wehnelt cylinder mounted on a disc 4, is slipped over th tubes and registered by projections 3. An anode 6 is spaced from the disc 4 by distance pieces 5. Deflecting plates 10 are carried by a band which fits over a pair of the tubes 2 and is located by pieces 7 while a further pair of plates 8 are mounted on a band which fits over the other pair of tubes. The electrode assembly is secured by means of a spring 11. The tubes may project from the container, and may house the leading-in wires, and the deflecting plates may be provided with flaps which are bent to grip the supports. The supporting members may consist of quartz glass.
