[Class 122 (i)] The head B<1> of an internal-combustion engine piston B is inclined at an angle B<2>, or is otherwise shaped, so that the force of the explosion acts on the piston with a component that counteracts the gravitational force on the piston in addition to counteracting the force due to the angularity of the connecting-rod.
