Convention date, July 6, 1932. [Class 38 (iii)] The speeds of motors 2, 3, are maintained in desired relation to that of a motor 1 by means of electrical differential regulators 6 supplied from a generator 4 driven by the motor 1, and acting through resistance regulators 5 on the fields 12, 15, of the respective motors, additional resistance regulators 7, connected either in series with the regulators 5 or in series with a separate motor field 14, being provided whereby the regulators 5 are automatically maintained within a certain range a, a<1>, about their central positions. The additional regulators 7 are adjusted by means of auxilary motors 11 energized to run in an appropriate direction when the regulators 5 travel beyond the limits a, a<1>. As shown in the case of the motor 3, the auxiliary motor 11 may be energized over reversing contactors 8, 8<1>, which maintain themselves until the associated regulator 5 returns within a range b, b<1> which is less than the range a, a<1>.
