Abstract
Aluminium alloys resistant to corrosion and suitable for articles such as window frames contain 0,5-3 per cent of the compound Mg2 Si and a total of about 0,1-1 per cent of one or more of the metals chromium, manganese, molybdenum, tungsten, vanadium, zirconium, titanium, and uranium. The content of tungsten or titanium should not exceed 0,5 per cent. The alloys may be heat-treated and aged, for example at about 515 and 160 DEG C. respectively or otherwise thermally treated in known manner. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 221,082, [Class 82 (i)].
