420,698. Washers. ROSENBERG, H., 200, Varick Street, New York, U.S.A. July 17, 1933, No. 20185. [Class 89 (i)] Lock-washers are manufactured with inner or outer radially projecting tabs 4 independent of each other. Each tongue has free radial side margins 4 and is of arched form transversely and the concave surface of one tongue or tongues faces in the opposite direction to the concave surface of another tongue or tongues. The tongues may, as is shown in Fig. 3, be alternately arched in opposite directions with each tab presenting its two side edges in the same direction towards the work or nut. As shown in Fig. 4, the tabs may be canted to present one edge to the nut or work in advance of the other. The tabs may be cut by a slitting operation with the slit cut inclined to the face of the washer.
