Abstract
419,152. Water-tube water boilers. KINNELL, J. L., and KINNELL & CO., Ltd., C. P., 65, Southwark Street, Southwark, London. May 4, 1933, No. 13014. [Class 64 (i).] In a water heater of the horizontal tubular type comprising a front header 1, an end header 5 and an intermediate header 4, the header 4 is of U-shape and has inserted in the gap a vertical baffle plate 18 through which the main battery 6<a> of water tubes pass from the front to the rear header ; further tubes 6 are secured round the fire space between the intermediate and front headers, the latter having a fire door 3. Horizontal baffles 19, 20 are formed by strips resting between the tubes. Each tube of the main battery is held in a recess of an aperture in the inner faces of the front and rear headers by a rod 9 passing through and having a bridge piece 10 and nut 11 engaging the inside wall of each header. A removable cover plate 12 is provided in the outer wall over each aperture. The water enters at 16 and leaves at 17.
