Abstract

349,705. Steam separators &c. BILBROUGH, S. B., 1, Harrison Street, Johannesburg, South Africa. March 31, 1930, No. 10203. [Class 123 (iii).] Apparatus for separating liquid from the vapour generated in steam boilers or other evaporators comprises a casing 7 with a vapour inlet 3 filled with a nest of small bore tubes 4, and with an outlet 11 for the separated liquid of an area about equal to or greater than the area of the vapour inlet. The outlet 11 is a rectangular opening in the lower end of a part of the casing depending into the liquid in the drum of the evaporator. Splash plates 12 are arranged in the path of the vapour in front of the vapour outlet 6.
