[Classes 29 and 123 (iii).] Compression machines and systems.-The state and quantity of the refrigerant vapour passing from the outlet nozzle c of the separator a in the suction pipe of the compressor is regulated by the position of an elbow-pipe e adapted to be rotated into partial or complete alignment with any of the wet vapour inlets b from the evaporators. Relatively dry vapour from the separator is entrained with the wet vapour flowing through the nozzle c. By arranging the outlet end of the elbow-pipe in the mouth of the nozzle c, the relatively dry vapour flowing into the nozzle may be used to induce the flow of wet vapour from one of the pipes b. The liquid refrigerant collecting in the separator may be returned to the evaporators through the outlet d.
