Abstract
418,986. Gyratory crushers. COLES, G. H. N., and ALLEN & CO., Ltd., E., Imperial Steel Works, Sheffield. April 5, 1933, No. 10231. [Class 59.] In the working face of one or each of the crushing elements of a gyratory crusher there is provided immediately adjacent to the level at which the crushed material is discharged, a peripheral groove 3 or 5, the lowermost bounding surface of which extends outwardly to the general surface of the crushing element, thus providing adjacent to the point of discharge a pocket in which some of the material to be crushed will accumulate and be retained while being subjected to a final crushing operation immediately before its discharge from the crusher. As shown, the working faces are formed by a two-part mantle 2, 2<a> on the movable crusher head 1 and by liners 4 on the concave or bowl. According to the Provisional Specification, one or more horizontal or inclined recesses may be formed in the head or concave or in both these parts or in the mantle or liners therefor.
